Email marketing tools can help you do this quickly and cheaply. You don’t need to spend a fortune on email marketing software or hire an expert to set it up for you – plenty of free options are available. You can even use an email automation tool to send out your newsletters, send out new product announcements, or run contests.
Some people say that email marketing doesn’t work anymore. They claim that this is the time for social media only.
However, nothing is further from the truth. If we learned something from the last few years, especially during the Covid pandemic, we learned how effective good email marketing campaigns could be.
The fact remains that if you want to make money and grow your business, there is no better way than to reach the inbox of your potential customers.
Why Is Email Marketing So Important?
Email marketing gives you a lot of benefits you can’t get with any other form of marketing in the same way. It allows you to:
- Build a lasting relationship: Whether a solo blogger or a big-time business, you can humanize yourself by sending personalized, valuable emails to your audience.
- Get personal: You can get in touch with your customers at any time of day, from anywhere in the world, in just a few clicks. And, best of all, they’ve permitted you to do it.
- More traffic to your site: If you provide a great value to your subscribers, there is no reason why they won’t subsequently also buy from you, i.e., buy products from your e-commerce store or your services.
How to start with an email marketing tool?
Now that you know how important email marketing is, it’s time to decide what kind of email content your customers are most likely to respond to. This includes things like:
Newsletters: Keep subscribers up-to-date on the latest happenings at your company by sending regular newsletters that include new articles, blog posts, and product announcements.
Offer exclusive discounts: Give away exclusive deals and coupons only to subscribers that you know will take advantage of them.
Promote upcoming events: Let your subscribers know about upcoming webinars, webinars about your products or services, and more!
What other features are important to you? Do you want an email tracking tool to see how many people open and click through your emails? Do you want automation capabilities so you can create and send your emails without any input?
Once you have answered these questions, it’s time to look at different email marketing tools.
What is the best email marketing tool?
Many email marketing platforms are out there to kickstart your marketing campaigns, each with different prices and features. Honestly, it can all be quite confusing, and that’s why most people go with a brand name such as Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, or Aweber.
However, here are some things to consider before you settle with any email marketing software:
The feature set and growth
Based on the requirements you defined above, you should look for a vendor that supports what you want to do. However, it would also be best to consider any future changes. Once you start seeing the effect of your email marketing campaigns, you might want to create dedicated landing pages for subscribing to your mailing lists. Speaking off, you might want to have the option to create an unlimited amount of distribution lists, as well.
Also, consider the growth of your business and, subsequently, the growth of your contacts. For both mailing lists and contacts, many vendors limit contacts and newsletter lists. While your email marketing tool might be “free” today, it might soon cost you a couple of hundreds a month.
The price for growth
As outlined above, many email marketing solutions have limits. The common determinator is usually:
- How many contacts do you have
- How many emails do you send a month
- How many mailing lists you can crate
Let’s look at some of the most known email marketing tools. In our comparison, we have an example of an online store company with 10,000 contacts that sends out a newsletter twice a month and wants to use email sequences for sending a series of emails. In addition, they want to segment their contacts and use five distribution lists. They also require some landing pages that link to on their Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn sites.
To summarize, they want to:
- send over 20,000 emails a month
- use five mailing lists
- need an email automation tool
- require landing pages
How much does Mailchimp cost?
Let’s start with probably the most famous name in the email marketing space and see how much Mailchimp costs per month for our online store.
Mailchimp’s pricing is a bit convoluted, and you must study a lot to figure out what you need. Buzzwords like “Journey Builder” or “Branching Points” don’t help for someone who is just starting with email marketing. Instead of a mailing list, they only mention “Audiences” (which could mean what exactly?).
To fit what our online store owner needs, you will start with $115/month. That gives you 12x the contacts sending limit (120,000 emails/month) and exactly five mailing lists (audiences). This plan also includes Landing Page Templates and five users.
One important thing to note is that their pricing page explicitly says “start with.” You are also limited to five users and five mailing lists; if you need more, you start with $299/month.
How much does Aweber cost?
Compared to Mailchimp, the pricing at Aweber couldn’t be less complicated. It doesn’t take a Ph.D. to determine the pricing for our fictional e-commerce store.
In short, you pay $69.99/month for email automation, unlimited email lists, landing pages, and unlimited email sends per month.
How much does Sendinblue cost?
Sendinblue is another provider that morphed from an SMTP sending service into an email marketing platform. We find again that their pricing is relatively straightforward.
Their Premium plan is what we need here, and since we send more than 20,000 emails a month, our price will be $79/month. The premium plan includes three users and five landing pages. Price will increase for sending more emails a month, more users, and more landing pages.
How much does Moosend cost?
We heard about Moosend some time ago and are including it here as we know some people that use them.
Their pricing is simple. Select the number of contacts and you get the price which is $160/month. This Their pricing is simple. Select the number of contacts, and you get the price of $160/month. This plan includes five users, and it looks like everything else is unlimited. If you require more, the price quickly increases, starting from $355/month onwards.
Maybe that’s the reason why they use words like “affordable” and “low cost” on their site? You judge for yourself what works for you.
Is there any flat fee email marketing tool?
Given all the different email marketing solutions above, each with its limitations and hindering your business growth, you will be forgiven for being confused.
Honestly, we were in the same position. Hence we decided to use the email marketing platform we provide in our team collaboration tool – Helpmonks, and create it as a standalone product with a flat fee.
Yep, that’s right, Sendmonks is the first flat fee email marketing tool.
However, we didn’t just skim and give you a slimmed-down version of an email marketing platform. We are including every feature you need to get your marketing strategy off the ground in one well-rounded package.
With Sendmonks, you get unlimited contacts, unlimited email sending, unlimited users, unlimited landing pages, unlimited marketing lists, and unlimited automation emails.
So how much does Sendmonks cost?
There are no hidden fees or surprises. You pay $99/month, and that’s it. There are no per-user fees, waiting periods, contracts, or other nonsense. You’re free to cancel at any time – no questions asked.
We also have a free plan to get you started with a sending limit of 2,500 emails per month, two email automation, and five users.
Hence given our online store example above, you would pay $99 per month with unlimited sending, unlimited email sequences, and unlimited landing pages. Our e-commerce company would not need to switch the tool once they grow beyond the 10,000 users or wants to send more than 120,000 emails a month.
But does the Sendmonks email marketing tool have everything?
In short, yes. Let’s see what we have for you:
- An email automation tool
- An email marketing campaign builder
- A landing page builder
- The option to create dynamic forms
- Intelligent segmentation for email marketing lists
- Contact tags – labels
Here are just two of the highlights that make Sendmonks a must-try.
Contact tagging with automation
For many years, we have featured an option to tag/label your contact records. With email marketing, tagging your contacts makes segmenting your mailing lists a piece of cake.
By tagging contacts, you not only segment your email marketing lists easier. But we also can add contacts to any mailing list when a label is added or removed from a contact automatically.
However, it doesn’t just stop there. Labels are also available for your landing pages and dynamic forms. Set the tags a contact should get when they subscribe through your landing page and see how the contact gets added to one or multiple mailing lists magically.
Email sequences based on tags and embedded automation
Following the label options mentioned above, you can add subscribers to your automated email sequence by labels. The email sequence can be triggered by either adding or removing a tag. Of course, this is in addition to the standard email trigger of adding a contact to the sequence.
Another powerful option is to execute automation based on the behavior of the email recipient. You could re-send the email if the subscriber didn’t open your first email or move the contact to another drip campaign. At the same time, you can send notifications to your users, add or remove labels, and do many other beneficial actions.
These are examples of how Sendmonks can help you get the most out of your email marketing lists.
We invite you to give Sendmonks a try. Also, if there is anything we can help you with, please contact us. We aim to do the same with Sendmonks as we did with Helpmonks – providing a tool that helps make you more successful in your business.
